About Esther Garcia, LPC

Therapy for Life’s Hardest Moments

Hi! I’m Esther Garcia, LPC.

Pronouns: she/her

I’m passionate about empowering people who are going through some of life’s hardest moments find more balance in their life and embrace where they’re headed.

In particular, I have a special heart for people who are experiencing profound life transitions and are trying to find how some relief in these unpredictable times. People feeling overwhelmed in navigating relationship struggles in close relationships with a romantic partners or family of origin, and People who are feeling challenged with what feels like the impossible task of parenting confidently. I also really enjoy providing therapy for fellow therapists.

How my passion developed

Therapists do not get into this line of work because life was simple or easy. To be alive is to be promised the experience of going through profound life transitions like a loss of a loved one, the unbearable loss of a child, loss of a career, loss of a dream, loss of a relationship, loss of identity, feeling like you’re failing your loved ones; these are all heartbreaking and life altering experiences.

The experience of heartbreak in my grief was extremely mentally, emotionally, and physically painful and I just wanted to feel “normal” again.

As a result, I went through a process of asking questions about the meaning of love and loss and if it’s possible to feel whole again.

I needed to make sense of the pain, and it was when I worked through my own personal grief that I connected with what coming out the other side takes and what it looks like for myself and has driven me to want to help others.

In retrospect, I realize that by allowing myself to navigate the loss that has come into my life unexpectedly and my ability to reflect and process my pain, my perspective on how processing grief can lead to personal growth and deeper self-awareness that has become my own.

Deconstructing my values on love, loss, and relationships has turned out to be an essential and healthy part of my development. And it enabled me to develop a sense of compassion towards people who feel broken inside by the heartbreak of grief and want to feel whole again.

How I live out my passion as a therapist

I find a sense of fulfillment in walking alongside others as they embark on a journey to make sense of their unresolved pain. Grief shows up differently for everyone, but I appreciate the opportunity to walk alongside my client’s as they do the hard work of picking up the broken pieces and starting the journey of building something new but still yet unknown, as they begin to look forward to what has yet to come.

I want people to know that there is no shame in experiencing the heartbreak of grief, and you can work toward healing and give yourself the time to do the hard work that can lead to a renewed purpose, deeper self-awareness, and a redefined sense of meaning.

The process of processing grief is necessary and essential to find relief in some of life’s most difficult moments. Over time you can feel more piece and redefine your meaning and purpose and work toward personal growth and transformation!

How I help others

In life we are all tasked with balancing different roles as family/caregivers/nurturers/partners/professionals and are constantly having to adjust to challenging circumstances and when they come in the form life changing circumstances surrounded by grief and loss …we carry a sense of shame from the feelings of grief that can be sadness/heartbreak/anger/confusion/relief and it can feel impossible to exist in our daily lives trying to fulfill all these roles.

I want to help shift people’s perspectives to see that processing grief is not only beneficial but essential to do the work to redefine who they are and where they are going, and more importantly to experience growth and to continue to live with love, meaning, and intention.
